with special guests

Through out the event history we have received many recommendations from people for guest flautists. The one name that has cropped up more than others has to be this year's guest - Clare Southworth, believed to be one of the best flute teachers there is.....

We once again welcome back the brilliant Tim Carey who now needs no introduction,

and our fabulous sponsors Jonathan Myall Music with the Just Flutes shop.

Master classes

Your chance to get personal tuition from Clare, these lessons take place in front of the rest of the group. Please note there are limited places for these classes and they are at an extra cost of £10 for a 45 minute session. These will be issued on a first come first served basis so please ensure you apply early.

Workshops

Clare is recognised as one of the countries finest flute teachers, so we will be making the most of this over the weekend. The workshops will include whole group tuition looking at how to improve and vary your tonal quality and articulation - lots if playing involved apparently. She has also suggested an opportinity for a relaxed discussion on practise techniques for the last session on the Saturday.

Flute Choir

There will be at least one ensemble sessions on both days for the chance to get everyone playing together. There will also be the chance to have a go on the piccolo, alto and bass flutes, for those who want a change.

Rehearsals with Tim

Once again this year there will be opportunities to rehearse informally with Tim Carey. It is not necessary to have pieces prepared to performance standard, but the better prepared, the more there is to gain from the experience. Please book in for these on arrival and we will try and accommodate as many people as possible.

Just Flutes

Justflute

Just Flutes from Croyden will be present throughout the whole weekend with a huge selection of flutes, headjoints, accessories and sheet music. We have made sure that there will be ample time to browse and shop. If there is anything specific you require please inform them and they will add it to the list.
