Jackie Waddle

Jackie is a founder member of Flute Cocktail. She is also interested in recorders. In the past, she has taught recorder and flute and she ran a local recorder group.

Jackie’s other passions are literature and cookery.

She has always loved reading and this led to a parallel love of writing. She has been involved with creative writing in the community, running a writing group and producing anthologies of the group’s work.
She published her first novel, Breaking New Ground, in 2008 under her pen name, Anna West. Following this, she started work with Plymouth and Exeter universities as a lecturer, teaching creative writing.
Another novel was written as part of her work for an MA in Creative Writing. She is presently looking for interest in her third novel, From Little Acorns, which is a story covering the time of the pandemic, and includes a lot of cooking and a professional flute player!

Cooking is a way of relaxation for Jackie. She loves all kinds of cookery, but in particular, baking.
She is interested in good nutrition and current research into staying healthy by eating well. She is, in fact, a foodie. She posts some of her food on Instagram as part of this hobby.

When Jackie is not practising or playing her flute, reading a novel, writing a novel, up to her neck in flour and spices, or picking herbs in the garden, you will find her on the moors, in all weathers, walking her Cocker Spaniel.
